Terms of Service

Effective: 9 May 2026Plain-language intent throughout

These Terms govern your use of terminal.house — the website at terminal.house, the API at api.terminal.house, and the MCP server at mcp.terminal.house. We've kept it short. Read it once. If anything is unclear, email support@terminal.house and we'll answer in plain English.

01Acceptance

By creating an account or calling our API, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you're using terminal.house on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company.

02Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password and API keys secret. You must use a real email address you control. Sharing a single account across more than one operator violates these Terms — Team-tier seats exist for that.

You must be 18 or older. We don't knowingly serve minors.

03Subscription, trial & billing

  • 14-day free trial on any tier. A valid payment method is required at trial start; we will not charge during the trial period.
  • Cancel any time during the trial for no charge. Cancel after, your subscription continues through the current paid period.
  • After the trial, your card is charged the tier price (Starter $99/mo, Operator $199/mo, Team $399/mo) and recurs monthly until canceled.
  • We don't offer a money-back guarantee or per-fetch overage. Cancellation is the trust mechanism.
  • Lead-views reset at the start of each billing period and do not roll over.

04Public-records data

terminal.house surfaces information sourced from publicly available government records — county property appraisers, code compliance, clerks of court, tax collectors, and state business-entity registries. We don't add to or alter the underlying records.

Records can contain errors at the source. We make best-effort to refresh and validate, but we cannot guarantee completeness or accuracy of any specific parcel, owner, or signal. Do not use terminal.house data as the sole basis for a financial transaction. Always verify against the original record before contracting on a property.

How to dispute an entry. If you believe a record about your property is wrong, contact the originating county directly — that's where the record lives. We will reflect the corrected upstream record on our next ingest cycle.

05Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use terminal.house for unsolicited bulk SMS, voice, or fax outreach in violation of the TCPA or any applicable communications law. You are responsible for your contact compliance.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute terminal.house data as your own product without a written reseller agreement.
  • Scrape our web UI, our docs, or our discovery surface to extract data outside the API quota.
  • Use the data for stalking, harassment, identity theft, or any purpose prohibited under federal or state law.
  • Reverse-engineer the scoring model with intent to clone the service.

06API & rate limits

Each tier carries a published lead-views quota and per-minute rate limit. Quotas and limits are enforced via response headers (X-Quota-*, X-RateLimit-*). Sustained abuse may result in temporary throttling or account suspension under §07.

07Termination & account-paused state

You can cancel your subscription any time from /billing. On cancellation, your subscription enters an account-paused state: payment method detached, account dormant, watchlists and feedback log frozen.

  • Data preserved 90 days after cancellation. Reactivate within that window in one click and pick up exactly where you left off.
  • After 90 days, account-scoped data is permanently deleted (watchlists, feedback log, exports, API keys). You'll get a single warning email at day 75.
  • Public-records ingest of parcels you previously viewed continues at the source — terminal.house has no special hold over them.

We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach (§05) or non-payment, with at least 30 days notice except in cases of fraud, security risk, or court order.

08Disclaimers

terminal.house is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that ingest will complete within a specific window, or that any specific signal will fire on any specific parcel.

09Liability cap

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of $100 or the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages — including lost profits, lost deals, or assignment-fee shortfalls.

10Governing law

These Terms are governed by Florida law, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute must be brought in the state or federal courts in Miami-Dade County, Florida — except either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

11Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes get at least 30 days notice via email and an in-product banner. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
